The Bravo NM™ PTCA Dilatation Catheter is designed to allow easy
exchange of the catheter using a standard length guidewire. The
1.9F proximal shaft is composed of a PTFE coated stainless steel
tube. The steel construction allows superior proximal
pushability with a smooth transition to a distal shaft
specifically designed to be trackable through tortuous
vasculature. The semi-compliant nylon balloon material allows
high pressure dilatation while maintaining control of balloon
size, and the balloon's Duraloob™ hydrophilic coating enhances crossability through complex lesions. One radiopaque marker band
is located at the center of the 10mm balloon, while two
radiopaque platinum marker bands are located within the 15mm,
20mm, 30mm and 40mm balloons. The internal lumen of the catheter
accepts a standard 0.014 inch PTCA guidewire. The guidewire
enters the catheter distal to the hypotube and advances
coaxially out the catheter's tip, thereby allowing both coaxial
guidance and rapid exchange of catheters with a single standard
length guidewire. Printed markers located on the proximal shaft
indicate catheter position relative to the tip of either a
brachial or femoral guiding catheter. The design of this
dilatation catheter does not incorporate a lumen for distal dye
injections and distal pressure measurements.
